Hospital Visiting Team

What is palliative care?

Palliative care is a field of healthcare that is committed to promoting the best possible quality of life for patients. It involves excellent pain and symptom management, as well as skills in assessing the psychosocial, emotional and spiritual needs of patients and their loved ones.

When an individual is admitted to the hospital, the palliative care begins. We here at Hospice receive referrals from local hospitals, Dr's, Health Care Nurses, individual community members and many others.

These referrals alert us that we have an individual in the hospital that is needing hospital visitations to help them through their difficult time.

Our Hospital Visiting Team is made of specifically trained volunteers that will visit clients in the hospital seven days a week.
