Palliative Programs

The Campbell River Community Hospice Palliative Care Team work together both in the home and in the hospital to provide support to palliative patients facing end of life issues, and to their families.

The Team includes:

Bereavement Support Group

This is a closed group to help people realize there are good ways to grieve.  Call the Hospice Office to see when the next group will be held.

Drop In Relaxation & Support Group   (Tuesdays 16.00 – 17:30)

Offered throughout the year, this program has been developed to meet the needs of people living with cancer and their caregivers. It may also be helpful to others with chronic medical conditions or those who have recently experienced a loss.

Widows & Widowers’ Grief Support Group

This closed group runs for 8 weeks, two hours a week. It provides sharing and support for those dealing with the process of grieving.   Call the Hospice Office to see when the next group will be held.

Grief Counsellor

Every Wednesday, Michael Wilson meets with clients, primarily as a grief counsellor for bereaved adults and children.  Call the Hospice Office for an appointment.

Life Review Program

A trained Hospice Volunteer may assist a family member in sharing memories, thoughts and stories about a loved one in a way that is meaningful. They may perhaps create a memorable keepsake for family & friends and a legacy for future generations. 

Library

Our Library is open to anyone in the community who would like to browse our collection of books, audio, videotapes and articles on a wide range of subjects around death & dying, living, caregiving, Hospice Care and bereavement.

However, donations to the Hospice Society which supports these & other programs, are welcomed.
