11th Annual Angel Rock - May 5, 2012

Community Dance - date to be announced

A "Community Dance" featuring "Monkey Wrench" (Classic Rock, Top 40's & Country music) is currently being organized.  Please check back for details.  
- This is a third party event and all proceeds will go to support the Campbell River Hospice Society.

 

Celebrate a Life Christmas Concert - December 21, 2011

On December 21 the Campbell River Hospice Society hosted their Celebrate a Life Christmas Concert.  It was a fun evening of Country hits and Christmas classics featuring award winning Canadian Country Music singer/songwriters: Duane Steele, Gary Fjellgaard, Samantha King, Jake Mathews, Sue Medley, and PEAR.

In conjunction with this concert, the Hospice Society held their annual Celebrate a Life event and recognized their 25 years of providing end of life care and grief support to Campbell River and the surrounding area, services that are a vital part of our community.

Hospice would like to thank everyone who made this event the success that is was as they could not have done it without you.

Hospice Wins the 2011 Not-For-Profit Business Award Distinction of the Year

On Saturday, September 24, 2011, the Campbell River Chamber of Commerce presented the Campbell River Hospice Society with the 2011 Not-for-Profit Business of the Year award.   Not-for-Profit of the year honours a business that demonstrates continual business excellence through positive business growth, exemplified customer service, and embraces an outstanding commitment to quality and the community.

Art of the Paddle & More

Thank you to everyone who came out and joined the Campbell River Hospice Society and the BraveHearts Dragon Boat Team on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at the Maritime Heritage Centre.

This year we had 14 unique - 4 foot cedar paddles and 8 unique - 3 foot cedar paddles, all of which were again raw carved by the Henderson family of Campbell River and then provided to local artists to use as a blank canvas to create their own distinctive works of art on.  Also included in our live auction were paintings and a wonderful Raku Salmon Chasing Herring Sculptor, by Ed Oldfield (as seen below).

 10th Annual Angel Rock - May 7, 2011

The Campbell River Hospice Society's 10th Annual Angel Rock Benefit and Dance was a huge success!  Thank you to everyone who attended and supported Hospice.

Celebrate-A-Life - December 19 to 24, 2010

The Campbell River Hospice Society kicked off their annual Celebrate-A-Life campaign on Sunday, December 19, 2010 by turning on the Trees of Remembrance while the Campbell River Singers sang Christmas Carols.  The trees where located in the lobby of the Hospice Society and available all week long for anyone to come by, write a loved ones name on a dove, place it on the tree and light a bulb on the tree in their memory.  

Please join us next year and honour the memory of a loved one.

The Art of the Paddle - October 16, 2010

"I am an artist and I am here to live out loud!" by Emile Zola...

Those words have been exemplified by the 21 local artists who have used beautifully carved 4 foot cedar paddles as their canvases to support the Campbell River Hospice Society and the BraveHearts Dragon Boat Team in their fundraiser, "The Art of the Paddle".

This exciting event took place at on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at the Maritime Heritage Centre and showcased the talent of our local artists.  In support of the Campbell River Hospice Society and the BraveHeart Dragon Boat Team, 21 unique and distinctive works of art have been created on 4 foot cedar paddles, raw carved by the Henderson family of Campbell River.  

Thank you to all the artists, local businesses and volunteers who helped make this event possible.
