About Us

CELEBRATING 30 YEARS OF COMMUNITY SERVICE

We are very proud that we have been a Charitable Non-profit Society.  We are proudly celebrating our 30th anniversay of providing services to our community  members. We became established in September 1986. We take pride in our service catchment area which is Campbell River, south to Black Creek, north to Sayward, west to Gold River, and we include Quadra and Cortes Islands.

In our  2014/2015 fiscal year we have helped 606 individuals in our area, and those individuals accessed 1,500 appointments through our programs and services!  The exact figures will be available end of September.

CYCLE OF LIFE TOUR

RIDING 200 KM FOR LOCAL HOSPICE CARE

(Campbell River, BC) Two days and 200 km:  the Cycle of Life Tour is set for 2016!  With registration opening on March 1, volunteers at Campbell River Hospice Society are encouraging other local riders to join this supported cycling Tour, which takes place this year on July 23rd and 24th.

This is a very well organized event with an interesting route and is wonderfully supported.  This is a very worthwhile tour because it supports the hospice societies on Vancouver Island.

Starting from downtown Victoria, on the first day riders          cycle to Brentwood bay and ferry over to Mill Bay, coast through the picturesque Cowichan Valley, then at Crofton ferry over to Salt Spring Island for the night.  While on Salt Spring, cold beverages, hot showers, meals and entertainment are all provided.  The next day the Tour crosses Salt Spring to Fulford Harbour, where the ferry takes riders to Swartz Bay. Back on Vancouver Island, the tour’s last leg is a ride through the countryside of the Saanich Peninsula before reaching the finish line back in Victoria.

The tour is organized by Victoria Hospice, but funds raised by riders in the Campbell River area will stay local, going to the Campbell River Hospice Society.  Participants help raise funds as part of their registration.

“Fundraising for past riders was not a hassle as some          anticipated.  Once they let friends and neighbours know that Campbell River was the beneficiary, it was quite easy to get $25 - $100 donation without much further effort.

Riders receive Tour cycling pants and jerseys.  Local participants can take part in group rides and receive a training guide.  With the ride capped at 60 cyclists, it’s good to register early.  For more information or to get involved, contact the Campbell River Hospice society or go to cycleoflifetour.ca
